The Drewry approach
Our approach to Supply Chain Optimisation
A pre-requisite for any improvement in supply chain performance is a complete understanding of its current structure, effectiveness and related costs. This is achieved by mapping the physical chain of logistics events with the supporting documentary and commercial process employed by the suppliers as well as the end customer.
Controlling costs in the supply chain is the pre-requisite to maintain and improve competitiveness. Drewry provide the mechanisms to minimise and benchmark international costs, including the calculation and assessment of total landed cost per unit.
Total landed cost (or delivered cost) studies may range from door-to-door or port-to DC transport cost analyses to more complex transport and distribution cost studies, as required. Where you need it, we provide supply chain cost-modelling including the flows through facilities and impact of bottlenecks.

In container shipping, inland freight costs for products shipped from China to Europe and the US often exceed port-to-port freight costs (and will rise faster for years to come).
